A code with a physical life. First designed in 2009, Qyoo grew into patented visual-code technology. Now it’s getting ready for a relaunch: a familiar shape, with more to discover through it.

Qyoo was first designed in 2009. Its visual-code work led to the 2015 grant of “Coded visual information system.” This is part of the project’s history, rather than a claim of current patent protection.

Qyoo is a distinctive visual-code system: a recognizable carrier shape containing a grid of encoded dots. Generators create the symbols; camera-based detectors find and read them.
The current question
Qyoo is preparing for a relaunch. The work revisits reliable scanning and what happens after a code is read: connecting a physical symbol to a digital experience. It brings together mobile camera work, image processing, and the design of the symbol itself.
Several generations, one idea
The public code includes C, PHP, and Python generators, plus C++ and iOS detector implementations. These are useful records of different generations of the project. Older repositories are implementation history, not a complete description of the current product.
