I really like the distinction you make between “translation” and “localization”. I wish all translators saw the difference so clearly. I worked in French document translation for a while, and the distinction you describe is what sets an excellent job apart from a mediocre or even terrible one.

It’s pretty easy to call a method in my AppDelegate from anywhere in my code… but what about doing it the other way around?

From AppDelegate… I need to call 1 of the methods inside 1 of my views.

Just add:

currentView.view.frame = self.view.bounds;

after:

[self.view addSubview:currentView.view];

Hello,

im trying to load sound file with each view
using this code
NSString *soundpath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"sound" ofType:@"m4a"]; theAudio=[[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:harfpath] error:NULL]; [playAudio play];

the problem when im in view 01 it is play view 01 + view 02 sound, when i swipe to view 02 it is play sound of view 03 .

if im back from view 03 to view 02 it is play view 02 sound

how i can solve this.

Hi Sam,

You might want to consider using a Tab Bar Controller for what you’re describing:

http://www.iphonesdkarticles.com/2008/07/tab-bar-controller-tutorial.html

The project above does what you are describing (with two buttons, but six buttons and views could be created) but they would also have to be added to each of the views — which means if you wanted to change one (title, position, image, etc.) you’d have to do that for each of the views…

I want to create 6 buttons on the main screen through which the user can tap the button and can go any view to which he want and also that all 6 views will contain the same button for changing views and those 6 views contains different different info
How can I go please help

Wonderful template for multimedia “books” and such. Looking at it now and am curious if there’s an easy way to restrict all swipes to either horizontal or vertical motion (so that a horizontal-only or vertical-only sequence doesn’t have orthogonal bounce back).

Thanks for this solution, worked beautifully. One problem that I can’t seem to solve. The app works fine changing from landscape to portrait but if you start the app up with the phone in landscape it still starts up in portrait. Also, if you switch from one view to another while in landscape, the new views appear in portrait. Any ideas?
